ATV

Humans have been continuously in a constant search for fun and adventure. With hectic schedules and stressful jobs, one often feels the need to get out of your monotonous lives and live a little other than merely exist. If you are one of those looking for adventure and craving for the adrenaline rush, there are plenty of activities that promise both.

There’s the usual bicycle ride for a lovely stroll or car racing for those who like to live life on the fast lane. And if you hate traffic, hop on to a motorcycle and go wherever with speed to match. But there’s one ride that offers more than just adventure and convenience, and that’s the ATV.

1. What Is ATV, And How Does It Operate?

ATV, short for all-terrain vehicles, was invented and manufactured in the late 1960s. It started as a three-wheel vehicle made for pure enjoyment and recreation.

Through the years, more and more people have become into riding ATVs that obstacles courses are in demand that adds more thrill to it. Since this vehicle needs more power to be able to run through rough roads and terrains, the 125cc 4 stroke engine came about.

For better understanding, let’s break down what this is, what it does, and how it works. A stroke is the motion or phase of the power cycle of an engine. So, what is a four-stroke engine? It means that it requires four strokes of the piston to complete one power cycle of an engine. These four strokes are called intake, combustion, power, and exhaust.

The intake stroke is the action of filling the combustion chamber with air and fuel mixture; it happens when the piston reaches the TDC and BDC that opens the intake valve.

Compression is when the air and fuel mixture is sealed within the cylinder and forms a charge that ignites, heated, and in turn, builds energy. The power stroke operates by forcing the piston to move a rod connected to the crankshaft or crank of the engine and allow it to rotate. Lastly, the exhaust stroke is when gases already spent are released from the combustion chamber and into the atmosphere.

Maintaining power on 125cc 4 stroke engine ATVs is quite hard, knowing now how much it goes through during use. To keep up with all the rough and tumble, most ATVs utilize 125cc four-stroke engine; it consists of four parts, mainly the intake pipe, spark plug, drive sprocket, and sprocket cover.

One of the advantages of using 125cc (Cubic Centimeters) is that since it has more cylinder volume, it can take more massive amounts of fuel. The more fuel the cylinder has, the more power it produces, which results in longer mileage or efficiency of the engine. It means that the ATVs can reach greater heights, conquer the roughest of roads, and cover more distance. What’s not to love about that?

Hopping on to an ATV brings great pleasure and entertainment. Whether you are after all that or just curious about the experience, be sure to check if its engine has enough juice to keep up with you and your energy and sense of fun!
