He expressed gratitude toward the NHS and everyone attempting to prop the nation up through the pandemic and stayed certain the UK would beat the infection. He repeated that remaining at home was central to halting the spread of the infection.

Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus.
I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus.
