If you are in your 30s or you just turned 30 – you might feel like you have already lived the best years of your life. But – the truth is things are just starting to get good that you never know – your best years might lie ahead of you. 

Instead of thinking about the lost past and fretting over the future, you will want to focus on the present time – today – this very minute. What you do today – or – what you start doing today has an enormous impact on the next decade that you will live. 

Instead of wallowing in self-pity, you will want to change your mindset and focus on one thing at a time to boost the quality of life in your 30s. 

Here are some lifestyle habits that you will want to make to unlock another level of life and boost the quality of your life.

Prioritize Your Health

If you haven’t been making healthy lifestyle choices in your 20s, then it is time to do the needful and start prioritizing your health.

Usually, people in their 30s are busy with their careers, family, and whatnots – but – it is never too late to get one’s life together and do the things that need to be done to boost longevity. With that said, you will want to take your health seriously – if you don’t have the time to squeeze in a doctor appointment, you will want to avail of online appointments.

For instance, if you don’t feel your best because of the flu – but – you have to run errands. Then your best take would be to opt for a virtual visit for flu. Also, you will want to make sure to work out at least four days a week – if you cannot work out every day.

Maintain a Healthy Weight

Maintain a good weight – prepare meals at home and avoid junk food. Most people tend to stay in a sitting position most of the time during the day. If you can relate, you will want to make the necessary changes so that you can move as much as possible. 

Instead of sitting at the desk for extensive hours, you will want to invest in a standing desk and switch your working positions between standing and sitting. Also, make sure to take a break at least after every hour. Walk around a bit, stretch your body, and drink water. 

People start losing muscle mass in their 30s, which makes it all the way more important to work out once you reach this milestone of your life. You will want to focus on weight training. However, make sure to work with a plan – strategically.

You will want to do weight training three times a week, do yoga on alternative days, and focus on core and cardio on other days. Make sure to take breaks and give your body some rest in between too.

Prepare Meals at Home 

You will also want to be mindful of your eating habits. You will want to consume healthy meals – preferably meals that you prepare at home. Avoid consuming foods that you can receive from the window of your car.

As soon as you start preparing your meals at home, you will be mindful of what you are putting in your body. You will change your perspective about food and start seeing it as a source to fuel your mind and body.

You will want to focus on consuming nutritious foods and essentially eat for your hormones. Try to understand the science of how food impacts your mood. Also, the right food can slow the aging process and help you ward off chronic disease. 

Start integrating more omega-3s into your diet and cut back on tobacco and alcohol. 

Be Mindful about Your Sleep 

Sleep hygiene is absolutely crucial if you want to boost productivity in your 30s. The thing is that typically people are the most stressed when they are in their 30s because they have so much going on in their life. 

Chronic stress can lead to insomnia which can badly impact your mental and physical health. 

In your 30s, you will want to start building healthy sleeping habits. Make sure to get at least seven hours of sleep every day. Go to bed early and wake up early – you will see a massive change in your physical and mental health.

Switch off your tech gadgets at least an hour before bedtime – this way, your brain will have sufficient time to produce melatonin which will help you fall asleep faster. 

Surround Yourself with Positivity

You need to focus on two things in life – one is having goals – you can never run out of goals regarding career and self-improvement. And you will want to focus on your mental health. Make time for hobbies and for self-care.

Avoid toxic people and cut out unnecessary drama from your life. You will want to surround yourself with people who are your real friends and who stand by your side. The quality of life also depends on the quality of people that you surround yourself with.
